Barbara & Eric Dobkin’s Involvement with New Israel Fund

Barbara and Eric Dobkin

Dobkin’s earliest volunteer involvements included her local Parents-Teachers Association, the League of Women Voters, the Yonkers’ battered women’s shelter, Westchester Jewish Community Services, Scarsdale UJA Women’s Campaign and capital campaign, and the UJA-Federation of New York. Though she continued to support the Federation’s domestic agenda, Dobkin later became a board member and key supporter of the New Israel Fund, inspired by its vision of pluralistic and inclusive civil society in Israel.

The New Israel Fund, which sends $30 million annually to Israel – and openly supports a boycott of Israel — was a major funder of the recent report at the United Nations which condemned the Israel Defense Forces as war criminals. The NIF is generally anti-Israel. We stand with the government of Israel – and today are exposing more of those who support the NIF financially – hence allowing boycott against Israel to spread.

We plan to continue to urge all who fund NIF and help harm Israel to stop. Some of these Jews may seek to “help” Israel – and even do other good things in the Jewish community. Funding the New Israel Fund offsets everything else — they are enemies of the State of Israel, as the government today openly says. Stop supporting enemies of Israel. Here is the latest group:

— SAR Academy in the Riverdale section of the Bronx is widely regarded as one of the most well-respected Modern Orthodox schools in the tri-State area. Unfortunately, a major board member, Eric Dobkin is Treasurer of SAR, and the Eric Dobkin & Barbara Dobkin Foundation is a 6-figure donor to the New Israel Fund.
